We get asked every day about bonbonniere, bomboniere and favors (in American accent), or favours in Australia. The most common question is: “how many chocolate hearts can I fit in this?”… jar, box, bag, test tube etc. So, we thought we’d take some photos of popular combinations to give you an idea of how many chocolate hearts you’ll need.

Firstly, bonbonniere are small gifts or favours that you give to your guests at special events and occasions. Most often they’re sugared almonds, chocolate hearts, rock candy or another quality sweet that will show your guest how much you care about them.

So once you’ve decided on your sweet of choice, the next thing to work out is how many sweets per guest or per favour. Usually this part is determined by budget. Tip: if you want to save some money, but still give a good gift, make the favour ‘per couple’ or ‘per family’, rather than per person. We’d all love to give everyone a really nice gift, but weddings are expensive!

Belgian Chocolate Hearts and Chocolate Hearts in Cadbury, are hugely popular. We have over 47 different colour foils, so finding the perfect match for your colour scheme will be easy.  The heart shape is naturally very cute and who doesn’t love chocolate. Chocolate hearts are really the best favours!

Big events have lots of guests and with all those people, there is a huge amount of food, drinks and favours that need to be organised and paid for. If you’re having a big event such as a wedding, 3 hearts is a great idea. From one 5kg box of Bulk Chocolate Hearts you can create 200 favour bags. That’s excellent value.

15 chocolate hearts in a medium white organza bag, is a great gift. Guests often attack their favours while still at the party, however 15 chocolate hearts is more than a usual guest will eat at the event, so they’ll have a handful to take home and enjoy later.

24 hearts fit nicely into this small candy jar and would with a little ribbon and a thank you card, it would be an ideal bonbonniere for a wedding or Christening. Did we mention how popular Gold is this season!

This bomboniere is going to leave an impression with your guests. It will have presence on the table and can be wrapped in ribbon and a card for a personalised message.

There are roughly 60 chocolate hearts in a 500g bag. In a 5kg box, there is roughly 600 pieces. For each of these Large Ribbed Candy Jars, you would be using half a 500g bag of chocolate hearts. If you bought a 5kg bulk box of chocolate hearts, you would be able to make 15 of these jars.

So there you have it. Hopefully this helps put together your bonbonniere. If you need any help, please always feel free to email [email protected] with a photo of your jar and we can help you work out exactly how many lollies you need to fill it.

See you soon : )
